The new Facebook Timeline is almost here! Are you ready? In a previous article we talked about the Timeline changes and what it could mean to you. Read it here. Now, we would like to show you what we have done for our clients and what we could do for your company.

We have designed three timeline facebook pages for our clients. One for Iveta Fabesova, which you can access online here. Second for our client Black Bear, which is not online yet, but you can see the design below. And the third for Project Syndicate, which you can also see below. And of course, our facebook page representing our company is also accesible online - evocreative

So what we can do for your new facebook page?

Design the look: Cover and profile photos

Page strategy: How to best write and position your posts

Facebook Apps: One of the great tools that Facebook has wisely decided to keep!

Please note that the main page cannot be used for commercial purposes, such as banners ads or other promotionals. So it really is about a good design and clever idea. The new facebook timeline starts on 30th of March. It’s mandatory. You have to change it. Be ready.

People are spending more time on the internet than ever before, we are living online, shopping online, finding information online. If your business does not have a website, it’s like you don’t exist. If your business have a website, maybe you might think about redesign.

An attractive, well-organized website, with a back-end that functions seamlessly and a shopping cart that makes the purchasing process as easy and intuitive as possible will do wonders for your bottom line.

Ten years ago, building a quality e-commerce website was a highly expensive proposition. You had to hire an outside firm to do it. Today, businesses can use any number of open-source platforms to build a complex, yet relatively inexpensive e-commerce site. But just because you can do it yourself, should you?

We say no. It’s too critical to your business not to get right. How many times did you made a picture about a firm according to their website? Yes, that’s how it works.

Read more in the article here.

For those of us who have a company page on Facebook, March 30th is a very important date, as this is when your page will change to the new Timeline format that profiles have recently changed to. What does that mean to you? You have homework to do if you want your page to continue to look and behave professional.

1. You have to adapt your page design to the new format by choosing a new cover photo and profile photo.
2. If you are using some apps that are important to your page, and you were using a welcome page to draw attention to it, you will have to find another way to do this, as welcome pages are no longer an option. One way to do this is by pinning a post to your tab.
3. Choose your wall stories wisely. With the new format, you options to hide some stories, instead of deleting them and placing a story on top of your wall by ‘pinning’ it.
4. You can create ‘milestones’ to your page… In essence, you can share with your fans your company’s history by highlighting some important dates and locations.
5. Your fans can now send you messages directly, which is a great way for them to communicate with you, so be ready to write back!

Should you need any help with your page, we are happy to help. Feel free to contact us for a consultation.

Fact: digital marketing has grown up. Once the poor, and often misunderstood relation, it now binds together and amplifies TV, outdoor, direct marketing and PR creating an extra dimension of interaction and engagement. It also changes the historically one-directional flow in which communications have travelled along these channels. The traffic is now two-way originating from any one of these sources. Today, when it comes to true customer engagement, the term ‘phygital’ sums up where marketing is going and is set to become one of the big trends of 2012.

Phygital? What’s it all about?

Phygital is literally a morph of two words: physical and digital. It is about understanding that the next generation of successful marketing depends upon creating an ecosystem between the brand and the consumer that bridges both the physical and digital space. This is also about acknowledging that for consumers, being connected is now a natural and sub-conscious human state. Those born post 1995 do not distinguish between an offline and an online world – for them, there is no divide. The experiences and interactions blend across these spaces whether they be communicating with friends or interacting with their favourite brands.

The best of both worlds

Phygital draws on the best of both spaces, yet it still speaks to the needs we have as human beings and the physical relationships that are so important to us. For example 1-800-Flowers in the US capitalised on the fact that friends turned to Facebook to wish their friends Happy Birthday wherever they were in the world. So they took their flower ordering service to Facebook and made the tradition of sending flowers really easy and powerful. Regardless of where they were in the world, friends could each contribute one flower to a bouquet which would then be physically delivered to the birthday girl or boy wrapped in paper featuring the profile photos of all the friends who had put the bouquet together. Now that’s magic, which, prior to Facebook, would have been pretty much impossible to create in just the physical world in one day.

In the phygital world, it’s vital to ensure that your brand has a relevant presence at all touch points visited by your customers. Ensuring your brand is available in the right place at the right time is a key consideration and that’s where connecting the dots between physical and digital becomes crucial.

In Korea, Tesco (known as Homeplus) has taken this one step further to provide real value-add for their customers. With significantly fewer stores than E-Mart, the market leader, Homeplus believed it could become the leading supermarket retailer without increasing the number of stores. Drawing on their research that revealed working Koreans dreaded the weekly shop, they decided to take the stores to the people rather than the other way around. Using outdoor display space on the platforms in Metro stations, they created virtual stores featuring all the products you could find at the supermarket. People waiting for their train were able to do their shopping, using their smartphones to scan in QR codes and order goods, which were then delivered after they returned home from work. Homeplus saw online shoppers increase by 76 per cent and online sales increase by 130 per cent. The brand is now the number one online retailer and a ‘very close second’ offline.

What we’re seeing, at last, is a genuine move beyond delivering a one-dimensional brand communication cascaded through a series of channels. Brands are now building saliency, increasing sales and market share through phygital interaction. They are creating storytelling, entertainment, fun and utility where consumers really are part of the experience itself, everywhere. Now that’s exciting!

In an age where all information is easily accesible on the go, still, not all companies are sure that investing in mobile phone applications is the best move for their business. We show you how building a mobile phone apps could give your business a competitive advantage.

What is a Mobile App?

Let’s start at the beginning. App is short for “application” and mobile apps are simply applications (standalone software) that run on a mobile device. Primarly these apps are supposed to ‘do something’ useful, as opposed to a website (or mobile website), which is mostly used just to offer information or sell something. Apps must be downloaded and installed into your device and some of them do not require an internet connection once they have been installed. There are 2 types of apps: Native apps and web-based apps (more on this here).

What are they good for?

Apps can serve many purposes, but they’re mostly used for the following: business, entertainment, quick reference, gaming and media playback, connecting people and a way to offer diferent kinds of product in real-time.

How popular are mobile apps?

Depending on your type of business, a mobile app might be a good fit or not. However, it’s important to know that mobile apps are becoming increasingly popular, and it’s too large of a market to ignore. As shown below, the time spent by users on mobile phone apps in 2011 exceeded, for the first time, the time spent mobile web browsing.

This trend is expected to continue in 2012.

What are the potential advantages of an app for my business?

Unlike mobile websites, mobile apps are not for everybody. Some of the factors to consider are your target market, your marketing goals, your budget and the size of your company. Some companies find mobile apps to be the right fit for them, some think mobile websites are best, and some use a combination of both. It’s up to you to decide which one works best for you. To help you, here are some advantages that mobile apps offer:

- Allow customers to purchase any time and anywhere.

- Great tool to introduce yours new products to the right customers and at the right time.

- Promotions and offers in real-time.

- Ability to perform complex calcutlations.

- You can personalize your customers’ experience.

- No need for connectivity.

Due to the above reasons, not all companies and all sectors can achieve this effect but there is a cost balanced behind a clearly defined strategy that allows mobility make the right decisions on the type of application that must be used.

Evocreative together with its partner Anyware (www.anyware.cz), can help you determine what is the best strategy and options for your business. We have helped introduce many companies to mobile marketing and successfully launch their initial mobile marketing efforts.

A lot of our clients have heard that is important to have a mobile website and they’re interested in having one… But most of them don’t know why is important and some are not even sure what a mobile website is. If you want your business to be competitive in 2012, this is information you must know. Here are some of the questions that they had and our answers.

What is a mobile website?

A mobile website is simply your existing website configured in a way that is easy to see and navigate with a mobile device (smart phone, tablet, etc). If your website is not optimized for mobile use, it could present major problems for the user, which could make it very difficult or impossible to use your website. (Please note that a mobile website is not the same as a mobile app – Read about mobile apps).

Why is having a mobile website important to my business?

Mobile browsing is on the rise… Checking your emails and browsing the internet with your phone it’s quickly becoming the norm. Statistics in 2011 reveal that over 10% of internet browsing is done with mobile devices. According to signalnews.com, that constitutes 16.7 million users worldwide. By the year 2015, the majority of internet users will be doing so with a mobile device. If you don’t have a mobile website you are losing out on a lot of traffic and potential business.

How do I get a mobile website?

It’s easier than you think. Depending on the size of complexity of your website, we can have a mobile version of it in 1 or 2 weeks. If you’re a client of ours, it’s even faster, since we designed and built your website and we know exactly how to optimize it. Feel free to contact us anytime for a free consultation. This is a worthy investment. You business will need a mobile website sooner or later, so why wait until your competition has one and establishes a relation with your potential clients?
